"Kat is an excellent guide and teacher, as she lives the principles of her practice. I was inspired by her long term commitment to a high-raw and raw food lifestyle, which she is happy to share and discuss with guests at the retreat, allowing for learning opportunities. The island also provides a natural and peaceful setting to relax. Yoga by the beach is blissful. You will leave the Samadhi yoga retreat feeling nourished, both in body and spirit, energized and lighter than when you arrived. Overall, an excellent experience for re-connecting with body, health and nature." Kris, Canada.

"I had the pleasure of attending a Samadhi Yoga Retreat recently. The best decision I made for my wellbeing, connectedness to myself and Mother Earth. The whole experience was sensational, beautiful and soul calming. I came back to what really matters, care, love, appreciate self and our planet and be present and you can attend to others with love, compassion and mindfulness. The yoga is brilliant, the vegan food with raw options sensational, the love and care exceptional and the small groups make this experience personal and special. The availability of a healing massage that I had was beautiful. Go with an open mind and the right intention and the experience can be life changing. I work in what would be considered a highly stressful industry and I have great self care in place but this retreat took the meaning of self care to a whole other level". Jacqui, Sunshine Coast

Eco Principles and Sustainability @ SAMADHI

  1. Low waste

We recycle and compost 95% of our waste

  2. Low Carbon footprint

We source local organic fruits, veg, nuts and seeds meaning less travel miles form the farmer to us. We thrive on Plant based nutrition which has a minimal impact on our environment compared to animal farming that pollutes our planets water and air. Methane from cows is responsible for more greenhouse gas than the entire global transport fleet. We also walk, carpool, bike-ride and use public transport where possible.

  3. organic faming

95% of the food used is organic. This means less chemicals in our environment and more harmony for our bee populations.

  4. Eco yoga mats and clothing

We use coconut yoga mats and sustainable yoga wear from We love clothes swapping too!

  5. Island Permaculture

We grow many of our own greens, herbs, medicinal plants and papaya and collect bush tucker when available

  6. Eco accommodation

Samadhi Retreat is currently hosted at Banksia retreat house and Samadhi guesthouse, both are purpose built green homes, using the eco architecture to cool the house in summer and utilise natural lighting. The houses also have a rainwater tanks for the garden and toilets.

  7. nature’s playground

At Samadhi the adventures are ecologically sustainable including nature walks, whale watching, swimming in the lagoons, surfing, snorkelling and of course yoga on the beautiful beaches.
